A Quick Introduction About The Arabic Calligraphy

Arabic calligraphy is the artistic practice of handwriting and calligraphy based on the Arabic alphabet. It is known in Arabic as khatt (Arabic: خط‎). Arabic calligraphy is the most important and pervasive element in islamic art. It has always been considered the noblest form of art because of its association with the Qur'an, the muslim holy book, which is written in arabic. Arabic calligraphers ( khattat ) are the most highly regarded artists in Islamic culture. Arabic calligraphy, was elevated above all other art forms in the Islamic world because Allah, or God, revealed the divine word of Islam to the Prophet Muhammad (570–632) in the Arabic language. The word calligraphy derived from greek words kallos (beauty) and graphos (writing). And the word خط  (khatt) has so many meanings. It can mean  'line', or 'design', or 'construction' or handwriting calligraphy in general or it can be used to refer to a certain type of Arabic calligraphic cursive style...

Surah Al Ikhlas (The Sincerity) Calligraphy

سورة الإحلاص  Beautiful Calligraphy  written in circle shape by Hassan Kan'an. There are two types of calligraphy in this work. The Diwany Basmalah (Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, in the name of god) written in the center of the circle. And the entire surah al-Ikhlas written around basmalah in Thuluth type.      Surah  Al-Ikhlas (also known as The Purity, The Sincerity or the Surah of Tawheed) is only four aayaat (verses) yet it sums up the essence of Islam. The Victorious Lion of God

The One Form Of Tiger-Shaped Calligraphy Known As "Macan Ali" Arabic Calligraphy on the beauty forms of tiger. It says : Ali ibnu Abi Thalib Asadullah Al Ghalib Karramallahu Wajhahu (which mean Ali Ibn Abi Thalib The Victorious Lion of God, May Allah Honour His Face). We say "karamallahu wajhah" because: 1. He had never worshiped idols before he entered Islam. 2. He never looked at his own pubic part. 3. The Khawārij used to say regarding 'Ali : May Allah blacken his face (Sawwad Allahu Wajhahū)" .  أجمل وأروع الخط العربي على صورة النمر أو الأسد والمكتوب فيه : علي بن أبي طالب أسد الله الغالب كرم الله وجهه وكاتبه غير معروف . وقيل إنه للخطاط حسان مسعود وليس في هذه الصورة أي قطعة من آيات القرآن . وهناك سؤال مضحك وإجابة مضحكة حول هذا الخط الجميل فإنهم سألوا الشيخ السعودي في بعض المنتدى عن هذه الصورة وأجاب الشيخ المسئول أن مثل هذه الصورة  إهانة لكتاب الله وفاعله كافر . Arabic calligraphy was originally a tool for communication, but with time, it began to be used in architecture, decoration and coin design.
